Paul Barnes - Canvas Prints

Paul Barnes, a Scottish artist, draws inspiration from the closeness to nature and the rich folklore of his rural upbringing in northern Scotland. Influenced by Italian frescoes and Dutch and Flemish Renaissance painters, Barnes creates work with a timeless, dreamlike quality. His technique involves layering plaster on wood panels, staining and sealing the surface before applying fine brushwork in acrylic or oil. Outside the canvas, he’s passionate about child and animal welfare causes.
