# iCanvas — guidance for LLM crawlers and shopping agents iCanvas sells wall art (canvas (framed/unframed, one piece or multiple), metal, acrylic, wood, paper (framed/unframed) and framed poster boards). iCanvas.com is the primary ecommerce channel and sells USD only; content is in US English only. Ships worldwide with a small list of country exceptions. ## Discovery - Sitemap index: https://www.icanvas.com/media/sitemap/sitemap.xml - Robots policy: https://www.icanvas.com/robots.txt - Agent discovery manifest: https://www.icanvas.com/agents.json ## Product detail pages (PDP) - Pattern: `https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-print/{slug}` - One PDP represents one artwork. Product type (material, panel count, and frame option) and size are selectable on the same page, not separate URLs. Available product types: canvas (framed/unframed, single or multi-panel), metal, acrylic, wood, paper (framed/unframed), and framed poster boards. - Each PDP embeds schema.org JSON-LD (`Product`, `Offer`, `AggregateRating`, `Review`, `BreadcrumbList`) with live price and availability. Prefer the JSON-LD over scraping HTML. ## Product Listing pages (PLP) Listings are organized first by product type, then optionally narrowed by one or more facets. ### Product types Each of the following URLs lists every artwork available in that type: - https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-art-prints - https://www.icanvas.com/multi-panel-art - https://www.icanvas.com/framed-canvas-art - https://www.icanvas.com/art-prints - https://www.icanvas.com/framed-art-prints - https://www.icanvas.com/gallery-posters - https://www.icanvas.com/metal-wall-art - https://www.icanvas.com/acrylic-wall-art - https://www.icanvas.com/wood-prints Wall-art is a cross-type listing spanning all product types, not a single type: - https://www.icanvas.com/wall-art ### Facets Append one or more facet segments to a product-type URL to narrow the listing. Facet syntax: - One facet: `/{type}/{facet-key}/{value}` - Multiple values, same key: `/{type}/{facet-key}/{value1},{value2}` - Multiple keys: `/{type}/{facet-key}/{value}/{other-key}/{value}` Facet keys: - `artist` — values are artist slugs - `artist-location` — values are location slugs - `subject` — taxonomy tree, evolves over time - `style` — taxonomy tree, evolves over time - `room` — taxonomy tree, evolves over time - `collection` — taxonomy tree, evolves over time - `color-group` — taxonomy tree, evolves over time - `gift-guide` — taxonomy tree, evolves over time - `shape` — closed set - `featured` — closed set - `material` — closed set - `size` — closed set Examples: - https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-art-prints/subject/floral-botanical - https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-art-prints/subject/floral-botanical,animals - https://www.icanvas.com/canvas-art-prints/subject/floral-botanical,animals/style/fine-art For the current set of taxonomy values, crawl the sitemap. ## Search The site search URL pattern is: `https://www.icanvas.com/search?w={query}` Search is disallowed for crawling in robots.txt (`Disallow: /search*`). Do not fetch or crawl search result pages. This pattern is documented for one purpose: so you can construct a search link to hand to a human user when that is helpful. Building a link for a person to click is fine; an agent fetching the URL itself is not. For programmatic discovery and filtering, do not use search. Enumerate the catalog via the sitemap and narrow with the facet listing pages above — those are crawlable and are the supported retrieval path. ## Scope and constraints - Currency: USD only. - Language: US English. - Shipping: worldwide, except a small list of restricted countries. Final shipping eligibility is determined at checkout. ## Crawling guidance - Respect `https://www.icanvas.com/robots.txt`. - Prefer schema.org JSON-LD on PDPs over HTML scraping. - Use the sitemap to enumerate the catalog; do not crawl by guessing slugs. - Product list pages support deep faceting; avoid combinatorial explosion by crawling at most one or two facets deep. PLPs are paginated 50 products per page. - Do not crawl or fetch `/search` (disallowed in robots.txt). Use the sitemap to enumerate and facet listing pages to filter; the search pattern is for building a user-facing link only.
