5 Questions With Lucia Heffernan
iCanvas artist Lucia Heffernan paints mischievous creatures in laughable settings using contemporary realism with a comedic edge. Crediting her lifelong fascination of animals for her inspiration, she gives her furry and feathered subjects personality by putting them in situations humans can relate to.
A graphic designer and oil painter, she’s constantly experimenting with mixed medias, new techniques and her sense of humor to bring joy to animal lovers everywhere. “I seek to give animals a voice and a personality, while making light of our uniquely human existence.” Combining the innocence and curiosity of her subjects, she creates an endearing, lighthearted world that’s easy to enjoy.
