5 Questions With Françoise Wattré
iCanvas artist Françoise Wattré captures the beauty of movement in their floral, abstract paintings. Using delicate flowers across pastel, vibrant, or glamorous palettes, Wattré hopes to encourage viewers to savour life’s precious moments. Past experience with watercolors and oil paintings helped shape her style, resulting in emotive, contemporary takes on the traditional floral theme. We’re proud to offer their work on iCanvas and wanted to take a minute to introduce you to the human behind the art.

Who are 5 of your current favorite artists, living or dead?
It’s hard to choose just 5 but I would say: Frida Kahlo, Georgia O´Keeffe, Camille Claudel, Flora Bowley, Alena Hennessy.
What band or musician would you listen to while creating your art?
Dire Straits, Leonard Cohen, Maria Callas.
If you could master any other form of creative expression, what would it be?
Piano and singing.
What is one person, one place, and one object that inspires you?
One person: Marie Forleo, one place: the ocean, one object: my favorite paint brush.
What is something about you that others may be surprised to learn?
As much as I love people and spending time together, I’m an introvert and need a lot of time to be just for myself to “feel” my next paintings and to paint.
